Rockstar Games, the developer behind GTA 6, has announced another delay for the highly anticipated game, expressing regret to the eager fan base. The company acknowledged the prolonged wait but emphasized that the additional time would enable them to deliver a polished product that meets the high expectations of players.
The new release date for Grand Theft Auto VI is set for Thursday, November 19, 2026. Rockstar Games expressed gratitude for the patience and support of fans while mentioning the excitement for players to explore the expansive world of Leonida and return to modern-day Vice City.
Despite the disappointment among some fans, with one expressing extreme frustration by breaking a TV at a party due to the delay, others remained understanding and encouraged the developer to take the necessary time to ensure a top-notch gaming experience.
Originally scheduled for autumn 2025 and later postponed to May 26 of the following year, the game’s release date has once again been pushed back. Rockstar Games previously apologized for the delay in May, citing the need for more time to deliver a game of exceptional quality.
Development progress on GTA 6 was reported to be well underway in early 2022, with speculations in 2023 hinting at the removal of DLC content to expedite a 2024 launch. Despite hopes raised by an earnings report suggesting a FY2025 release, the game’s launch date has been further delayed.
With over a decade since the launch of GTA 5, which remains one of the best-selling games, GTA 6 continues to generate immense anticipation among fans eagerly awaiting its release.
