Hyperoptic, a leading broadband provider, has recently announced a significant price increase for its customers. Starting from April 2026, users will face a £4 monthly rise in their bills, up from the previous £3 increment. This adjustment applies to both new and existing subscribers across all Hyperoptic broadband plans. Despite prior claims against mid-contract price hikes, Hyperoptic joins other major telecom companies in implementing larger increases.
In a shift from its previous stance, Hyperoptic is now aligning with industry trends by adjusting prices mid-contract. This move comes after the company’s policy director, James Fredrikson, stated in 2023 that they were committed to transparency and keeping advertised prices stable throughout the contract duration.
On the other hand, Sky Mobile has announced a £1.50 monthly bill increase for the majority of its customers starting February 14, 2026, marking the first price adjustment for in-contract customers in over seven years. O2 has also revealed a £2.50 monthly raise for almost all mobile and SIM-only contract holders from April 2026, surpassing the initially planned £1.80 hike.
In a similar vein, Three mobile customers with data plans of 4GB or less will experience a £1.80 monthly increase from April 2026, representing an 80p uptick from the current £1 rise. The price adjustments vary based on data allowances, with plans ranging from 4GB to over 100GB witnessing different monthly increments.
Moreover, Three broadband users will face a £3.50 monthly surge from April 2026, while Vodafone mobile customers opting for new deals after November 12 will see their bills rise by £2.50 per month, with Basics SIM plan increases set at £1.50. Vodafone broadband subscribers are also slated for a £3.50 monthly uptick.
For consumers looking to save on their mobile and broadband expenses, comparing prices online is recommended. By assessing usage habits and exploring alternative providers, individuals can potentially secure better deals. Additionally, those eligible for social tariffs should inquire with their provider to access cost-effective options.
By staying informed and proactive, consumers can navigate these price changes and make informed decisions to optimize their telecom expenses.
