“Boy’s Ear Amputated After Dog Attack”

Published:

A 4-year-old boy underwent ear amputation following a severe dog attack that landed him in the hospital for a week.

Tracy Moore and her son, Roland Moore, were waiting for the school bus on November 20 when two apparently friendly dogs approached them. The incident, as per the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office report obtained by PEOPLE, took a drastic turn when the dogs suddenly attacked Roland, biting his left ear. An officer at the scene described the boy’s ear as hanging from the side of his head.

To assist Roland’s family with legal fees, medical costs, and child therapy, a GoFundMe page has been created to ensure his well-being and justice.

The page recounts the terrifying incident that occurred on November 20, 2025, when the dogs, initially friendly, turned aggressive towards Roland as he went to hug his mother. The attack left Roland with a severely injured ear that ultimately had to be amputated after a week of hospital treatment.

Roland’s recovery journey will involve emotional and legal support, including therapy to address the trauma he has endured. The family is seeking assistance from the community to cover the necessary expenses for Roland’s care and justice.

For those interested in contributing to Roland’s recovery and justice, donations can be made by clicking on the GoFundMe page link provided. The Mirror has reached out to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for a statement regarding the incident.
