“David Schumacher Engaged to Racer Vivien Keszthelyi”

Published:

David Schumacher, the nephew of legendary Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher, recently got engaged to Vivien Keszthelyi following a romantic proposal in the Maldives. The couple, who met through mutual connections and have been in a relationship for several years, shared the joyful news on social media last weekend.

David, who competed in the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup for the HRT Ford Performance team, popped the question to the Hungarian racer during their Maldives getaway. Posting heartwarming photos on Instagram, the 24-year-old expressed his happiness, stating, “She said yes. The ocean witnessed our love, and the sunset sealed our promise. 05.11.2025.” Vivien also expressed gratitude for the outpouring of well wishes and support from friends and followers.

Among those who celebrated the engagement was David’s father, Ralf Schumacher, a former Formula 1 race winner. Ralf, who also ‘liked’ the post, has been supportive of his son’s racing career. The Schumacher family has faced challenges, notably Michael Schumacher’s severe head injury from a skiing accident in 2013, which requires him to receive constant medical care at home.

The seven-time Formula 1 world champion spent 250 days in a medically induced coma before returning home. Dr. Jussi Posti, a neurosurgeon closely monitoring Schumacher’s condition, suggested that Schumacher’s life may not be very active, indicating a consistent medical situation over the past decade.

Corinna Schumacher, Michael’s wife, provided insights into her husband’s life in a 2021 Netflix documentary. She reflected on the accident and its impact, highlighting the daily challenges and the void left by Michael’s absence. Mick Schumacher, the couple’s son, also shared his thoughts, expressing the loss of shared experiences and the unique bond they shared through motorsport.

The Schumacher family continues to navigate the complexities of Michael’s health condition while celebrating new milestones, like David and Vivien’s engagement, as they cherish memories of a life changed by both triumphs and tragedies.
