Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat with the launch of HBO Max as a new streaming service. Subscribers with Sky Ultimate TV packages can now enjoy popular titles like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, Succession, and Young Sheldon at no additional cost, saving over £50 annually. The service includes a vast library of HBO dramas and Warner Bros. films.
According to Sky, customers with Sky Ultimate TV on Sky Glass or Sky Stream, as well as Sky Q customers with the appropriate package, will automatically receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. To access the content, users simply need to launch the HBO Max app from the homepage and follow the on-screen instructions.
For those not on Sky Ultimate TV, switching to the plan is possible from £22 per month, increasing to £24 from April 1st. This package offers over 130 Sky channels along with Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, expressed excitement about the integration of Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu into a single subscription, offering a unique entertainment experience. NOW Entertainment customers will also have access to HBO Max within the NOW app.
Non-Sky subscribers can sign up for HBO Max directly on its website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99.
