Jessica Rawstron, a smart energy engineer, recommends leaving the oven door open after cooking to utilize the residual heat escaping from the appliance.

Rawstron advises, “After taking out your meal from the oven, instead of closing the door, allow the heat to gradually warm your kitchen. This will help maintain a cozy atmosphere while you dine. Remember to keep children and pets away from the open oven door.”

British Gas also offers suggestions on winter home preparation, such as sealing gaps around windows and doors to prevent draughts.
