These relentless attacks have caused casualties, destruction of residential properties, and disruption of daily life with extended air-raid alerts. More explosions were reported on Tuesday morning, further exacerbating the situation.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned the strikes, highlighting that Russian drones and ballistic missiles targeted civilian areas and vital railway infrastructure during the intense overnight assaults. Sybiha urged Ukraine’s allies to apply greater economic pressure on Russia and explore leveraging frozen Russian assets abroad to support Ukraine’s defense efforts.
The attacks in Kyiv resulted in the deaths of eight individuals, including railway workers, with additional casualties reported on Tuesday from a drone strike that ignited a fire in a high-rise apartment building. In Boryspil, located adjacent to Kyiv, four individuals lost their lives, and 13 others sustained injuries from an attack on a residential complex. Notably, one among the deceased was an Indian national.
The scope of the Russian strikes extended to the Black Sea region of Odesa, where a border crossing with NATO-member Romania was targeted, leaving numerous families without electricity, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The ongoing conflict has seen Moscow intensify nighttime bombardments, with recent daytime assaults disrupting normalcy in the capital.
In response to the attacks, Ukraine has also ramped up its offensive against Russia, targeting critical infrastructure such as oil refineries and logistics facilities. The repercussions of Ukrainian strikes have been felt in regions like Ust-Luga and Samara, leading to fires and damage to civilian establishments.
