Influencer Paiva Allegedly Enlisted Gang for Vengeance

Published:

An influencer, Izabela Paiva, aged 26, was apprehended for allegedly instructing a gang to inflict harm on two individuals who purportedly trespassed into her residence. The incident occurred in Porto Velho, situated deep within Brazil’s Amazon region, while Paiva was away from home.

Instead of contacting law enforcement, Paiva purportedly directed members of the feared Comando Vermelho gang to confront the intruders, discipline them, and recover her stolen belongings. The Rondônia State Civil Police criticized her decision, highlighting her deliberate choice to take matters into her own hands rather than seeking official assistance.

Authorities suspect that Paiva not only maintains “close connections” with Comando Vermelho but could also be an active member of the gang. Known for showcasing a lavish lifestyle on social media, Paiva flaunts jet skis, bundles of cash, and luxury vehicles to her sizable following of over 100,000 individuals.

Comando Vermelho, also known as the Red Command, is a prominent criminal organization deeply rooted in Brazil’s history, originating in Rio de Janeiro prisons during the 1970s. The gang is notorious for engaging in drug trafficking, arms smuggling, and various criminal activities across multiple states, often engaging in violent conflicts with rival groups such as the Primeiro Comando da Capital.

Paiva’s arrest operation was codenamed “Arur Betach,” derived from a Hebrew phrase signifying “cursed is the one who trusts.” This phrase was reportedly shared on social media by Paiva shortly after the burglary incident.

This development follows an investigation initiated in the country after the tragic deaths of an influencer, Lidiane Aline Lorenco, aged 33, and her teenage daughter, Miana Sophya Santos, aged 15. The pair was discovered deceased in their 11th-floor apartment in Rio de Janeiro following concerns raised by neighbors about their well-being. Firefighters, responding to reports of a foul odor emanating from the apartment, found the bodies of Lidiane and Miana, who had passed away some time earlier.
