Published:

A’ja Wilson led the Las Vegas Aces to a 93-73 victory over the Toronto Tempo with 27 points and eight rebounds, while Jackie Young contributed 23 points and eight assists without any turnovers. Chelsea Gray added 11 points to the winning effort. This game marked the Aces’ first without NaLyssa Smith, who sustained a season-ending left leg injury in their previous match against Toronto.

For the Toronto Tempo, Isabelle Harrison scored 15 points, Laura Juskaite had 14, Kia Nurse scored 12, and Kiki Rice and Kiana Williams each added 10 points. The Aces (27-13) secured a crucial win, maintaining their one-game lead for third place in the WNBA playoff race over the Indiana Fever (26-14), who defeated the Connecticut Sun 111-91.

Jackie Young’s 3-pointer early in the game propelled Las Vegas ahead, and they maintained the lead throughout. The Aces finished the first quarter with a 27-17 advantage, shooting 50% from the field, including 6-of-12 from beyond the arc. Toronto struggled with turnovers, committing nine in the first quarter.

Las Vegas continued their strong performance into the second quarter, entering halftime with a commanding 56-39 lead. Despite a slight dip in their 3-point shooting, Las Vegas maintained a 50% overall shooting accuracy (18-for-36) in the first half. Toronto’s 12 personal fouls allowed the Aces to capitalize from the free-throw line, converting 13 of 14 attempts.

Looking ahead, the Toronto Tempo will face the Phoenix Mercury, while the Las Vegas Aces will take on the Seattle Storm on Thursday, September 17.
