“Woman on Trial for Alleged Murder Plot in Love Affair Drama”

Published:

A woman has recently stood trial for allegedly conspiring with her former Royal Marine lover to murder her husband after admitting to an extramarital affair. Michelle Mills, 46, denied any knowledge of her husband’s life insurance policy and claimed financial struggles led to her involvement in the plot. The court heard that Mills and her lover, Geraint Berry, 46, exchanged numerous messages discussing ways to kill her husband, but Mills insisted it was all fantasy.

During the trial at Swansea Crown Court, Mills testified that she felt bullied and dehumanized by her husband, prompting her to plan a divorce and engage in the affair with Berry. The court was informed that Berry and another man, Steven Thomas, 47, armed themselves and attempted to attack Mills’ husband at their caravan in Cenarth, Carmarthenshire.

Despite the exchange of incriminating messages, Mills maintained that she never intended for her husband to be harmed and believed Berry’s actions were part of a fantasy. Following the failed attack, Mills messaged Berry to distance himself and urged him to delete all communications, hoping he would deny involvement. The court also learned that the attackers, Berry and Thomas, were apprehended with a stash of weapons and a forged suicide note intended to frame Mills’ husband.

Both Berry and Thomas, along with Mills, deny the charges of conspiracy to murder. Mills additionally faces accusations of attempting to obstruct justice by deleting messages and providing false information to the authorities. The trial is ongoing and is expected to last for three weeks.
