After recent heavy rainfall causing flooding in Las Vegas, the Formula 1 event this weekend remains unaffected by the wet conditions. Despite dramatic scenes of standing water and flooded streets earlier in the week, the city has since dried up, with the sun shining again by Wednesday morning.
While some standing water persisted near Harry Reid International Airport on Tuesday evening, the water had largely evaporated by the following day. Although showers returned on Wednesday afternoon, no significant issues were reported on the track, and the weather is not anticipated to impact the upcoming races.
Race organizers are optimistic that the rainy weather won’t deter spectators, especially as ticket prices have been reduced significantly for this year’s Las Vegas Grand Prix. Ticket sales are up by approximately 50% compared to the previous year, with expectations of a sold-out event.
Lando Norris currently leads the championship with a considerable advantage over his teammate Oscar Piastri, making him the favorite for the title. Max Verstappen remains in contention mathematically but faces a significant points gap to catch up. The championship will conclude with the Qatar and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix following the Las Vegas event.
In addition to the racing excitement, Sky has enhanced its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to include various streaming services like HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, and more, along with comprehensive coverage of Formula 1 and other sports events throughout the season.
