“Lewis Hamilton Endures Nightmare Season with Ferrari”

Published:

Fans anticipated an extraordinary collaboration in Formula 1, as the most accomplished driver in the sport’s history united with its most renowned team. However, following a challenging outing at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton candidly acknowledged, “This has been a nightmare that I’ve been enduring for quite some time.”

Although Ferrari boasts the most championship victories in F1 history, their recent successes have been scarce. Their last triumph dates back to 2008 when they clinched the constructors’ championship. Hamilton, then 23 and in his second F1 season, secured his first of seven drivers’ titles that year.

At 40 years old now, Hamilton did not expect his mere presence to instantaneously revitalize the team. Nevertheless, he harbored hopes for success, especially after Ferrari fiercely competed with McLaren in the 2024 teams’ championship, narrowly missing out on victory in Abu Dhabi.

Hamilton claimed his first win in just two races at the Shanghai Sprint race earlier in March. However, his subsequent performances have been less than promising. While his winless season in 2022 with Mercedes was widely discussed, this year he has yet to reach the podium in a Grand Prix.

His weekend in Brazil, a nation that has embraced him, turned out to be another disappointment. Despite salvaging two points after a challenging Sprint qualifying, Hamilton faced more setbacks during the main race.

On the opening lap, he collided with Franco Colapinto’s Alpine, an incident for which he was held entirely responsible by the race stewards. Although he received a five-second penalty and pitted for a new front wing, the damage sustained led to his retirement on lap 40.

Ferrari had a dismal day overall, with Charles Leclerc also failing to finish after a collision caused by Oscar Piastri. As a result, the Scuderia now sits in fourth place in the constructors’ standings, trailing behind both Mercedes and Red Bull.

“This weekend has been catastrophic and disheartening for everyone,” lamented Hamilton, expressing regret for his poor qualifying performance. “I am striving to stay positive amidst these challenges.”

Those were the sentiments of a man eagerly awaiting the end of his tenure with the Ferrari SF-25. However, his respite may be short-lived as the upcoming 2026 season will feature new cars and engines, necessitating early pre-season testing in January.

Sky has enhanced its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle to include HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+, and Hayu, along with 135 channels and comprehensive Formula 1 coverage.

With live coverage of every practice session, qualifier, and race throughout the season, Sky also offers exclusive access to the Premier League, EFL, darts, and golf events.

By the time he turns 41, Hamilton’s opportunities to secure an eighth F1 title are dwindling. Nevertheless, he remains steadfast in his determination, asserting, “We will persevere.

“Perhaps all our misfortune is concentrated in this year. Who knows? I choose to believe that something positive will emerge from our current struggles. I am certain that our future holds something favorable.”
