David Malukas set the quickest practice lap time during the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy event in Markham. Malukas recorded a time of 1:14.194 in the second training session of the day, with qualifying scheduled for later in the evening.
Following Malukas, Alex Palou secured the second-best time with a lap time of 1:14.560, while Dennis Hauger claimed the third spot with a time of 1:14.592 around the Markham downtown road course.
The first day of track sessions had to be called off by organizers due to incomplete course construction and pending safety inspections. This year marks the first time that Markham is hosting the race, following its relocation from Toronto’s Exhibition Place, where it had been held since its inception in 1986.
Earlier in the day, Palou had topped the time charts in the first practice session by completing a lap in 1:14.9915.
