Wetherspoon has kicked off a January Sale in 600 of its pubs, offering a pint of beer for as low as 99p. The discounted drinks lineup includes Worthington’s beer at 99p per pint, Coldwater Creek wine at £2.99 for a 250ml glass, Johnnie Walker Black Label (25ml with a mixer) at £1.99, and Tanqueray gin (25ml with a mixer) also at £1.99.
Moreover, a variety of low-alcohol and alcohol-free beverages are available, such as Guinness 0.0, Corona Cero, Brewdog Punk AF, Stella Artois Alcohol Free, Erdinger Isotonic, Thatchers Zero, Kopparberg Alcohol Free, and Gordons 0.0 pink gin, each priced at £1.69. Beck’s Blue and Sanpellegrino Aranciata Rossa are on sale for 99p each. The sale also extends to Wetherspoon food items, including an 11-inch Margherita pizza or chicken burger with chips for £4.99 with a soft drink, or £6.52 with an alcoholic beverage.
Customers can also opt for six jacket potatoes at £4.99 with a soft drink, or £6.52 with an alcoholic drink, with fillings like tuna mayo, coleslaw, chilli bean non-carne, cheese, baked beans, or roasted vegetables. Additional fillings or a side salad can be added for 99p. New gourmet jacket potatoes are introduced, priced at £6.49 with a soft drink and £8.02 with an alcoholic drink, featuring options like loaded spud with cheese, maple-cured bacon, garlic butter, and sour cream, a Mexican spud with chilli bean non-carne, cheese, guacamole, and more, and a smoky potato with pulled BBQ beef brisket, cheese, chipotle mayo, and chillies.
Wetherspoon founder and chairman Tim Martin expressed enthusiasm for the January Sale, likening it to the sales held by department stores and shops during this time. He emphasized the wide range of drinks and food offerings catering to different tastes, including a significant selection of low and non-alcoholic options. The sale will be available in 600 pubs from January 2, extending until January 15, with prices varying at the remaining 200 venues of Wetherspoon.
