“US Urges Prince Andrew Testify on Epstein Links”

Published:

American legislators have urged Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to testify in the United States regarding his connections to Jeffrey Epstein, a controversial figure in the case.

King Charles received accolades from US officials for stripping Andrew of his prince title. The decision came after a vote to release the Epstein files, which passed overwhelmingly. US officials commended the prompt action taken by King Charles and the UK government.

Addressing the media outside the Capitol, Republican Rep Thomas Massie emphasized the need for accountability in the US similar to recent actions in the UK, where titles were revoked. Despite the ongoing scandal, Andrew has consistently denied any misconduct.

The US has expressed a desire to align with the UK’s stance on accountability, as mentioned by Mr. Massie. He emphasized the importance of not honoring individuals involved in such crimes and stressed the need for transparency.

Democratic Rep Ro Khanna hinted at the possibility of Andrew being summoned to testify before Congress. He echoed the urgency displayed by the British public in seeking justice and called for a similar approach in the US.

Last year, King Charles finalized the removal of all remaining royal titles from Andrew, following renewed scrutiny of his association with Epstein. Buckingham Palace confirmed that Andrew would no longer use his royal style and had been stripped of official patronages and military roles linked to the Crown.

This decision marked the end of a tumultuous chapter for the royal family, spurred by Andrew’s retreat from public duties in 2019 after his controversial BBC interview addressing the Epstein scandal.
