A father from the UK passed away after collapsing at the peak of a mountain during a hiking trip to celebrate his daughter’s birthday. The 63-year-old man suffered a heart attack at the summit of Ella Rock in southern Sri Lanka. Accompanied by his daughter, they completed the challenging climb on October 25 to mark her 34th birthday.
Upon reaching the top, the father suddenly collapsed, as reported by local authorities. He was quickly taken to the nearby Bandarawela Hospital but unfortunately could not be revived. An autopsy revealed that he had experienced a heart attack. The duo had arrived in Sri Lanka on October 16 and had visited Weligama before heading to Ella Rock as part of their birthday excursion.
Tragically, this incident occurred shortly after a British fashion and travel influencer, Ebony McIntosh, passed away from an undisclosed illness while on a trip to Sri Lanka. Ebony, 24, was admitted to a hospital after experiencing symptoms like vomiting, nausea, and breathing difficulties. Despite medical attention, she succumbed within hours of her admission.
Expressing her grief, Ebony’s younger sister India posted a touching tribute on social media, reminiscing about their bond and expressing a deep sense of loss. The family is devastated by the sudden loss and seeks closure for Ebony. This heartbreaking event has left a void in their lives, with the family yearning for Ebony’s presence once again.
