“Tiger Woods Takes Break from Golf for Back Surgery Recovery”

Published:

Tiger Woods recently announced that he will be taking a break from golf following a back surgery he underwent in October. This surgery marked the seventh procedure on his back and the third major operation in the past two years, with previous surgeries on his Achilles and ankle.

Despite winning the Masters in 2019 after an 11-year gap, Woods has struggled with injuries, preventing him from being competitive in golf. He recently hosted his annual Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas but acknowledged that a return to the sport will take time.

While joking about playing in numerous events, Woods emphasized the importance of focusing on his recovery before committing to a full schedule. He mentioned that he had just received clearance to resume chipping and putting after a six-week recovery period from the disc replacement surgery.

One of Woods’ main motivations is to break the PGA record for the most tournament wins, currently tied at 82 with Sam Snead. Notah Begay III, a close friend of Woods, highlighted that walking around the golf course could be a significant challenge for Woods post-surgery.

Woods remains dedicated to his rehabilitation process, aiming to regain strength and eventually return to competitive play. His focus is on gradually reintroducing golf-related activities as he works towards achieving his comeback goals.
