“Teen Darts Sensation Claps Back at ‘Helmet’ Coach”

Published:

An annoyed Luke Littler has criticized a darts coach who questioned his participation in the World Youth Championship, calling him an ‘absolute helmet’. Littler, 18, competed in the tournament in Wigan recently but was defeated in the semi-finals by Beau Greaves, who went on to win the championship.

‘The Nuke’ expressed his satisfaction with the experience and commended Greaves, a three-time women’s world champion at just 21 years old. However, Cornwall had a different view.

“Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous,” stated Cornwall, a former PDC Tour Card holder, on the Mission Darts Podcast. “It seemed like a self-centered move. Someone should have advised Luke not to compete in the youth category anymore as a world champion.”

In response to Cornwall’s criticism, Littler took to Instagram, where he has nearly two million followers, to fire back at the darts coach. He referred to Cornwall as an ‘absolute helmet’ and expressed his lack of familiarity with him.

Littler defended his decision to participate in the World Youth Championship, emphasizing that it provided valuable experience playing against professionals. He highlighted the disparity in reactions compared to other players at the same venue who are tour card holders.

Cornwall also targeted Stephen Bunting, criticizing his stance at the oche during matches. Cornwall suggested that Bunting’s positioning could hinder his consistency and success in major tournaments.
