This update, recently launched in households, brings various new functionalities, such as remote control of Sky’s internet-connected devices through a smartphone and the option to set program reminders for listings in the TV guide.

The newly revamped settings menu now offers smoother navigation, along with additional accessibility features like enhanced contrast controls for text and backgrounds within Sky applications. According to the company, the latest enhancements to Sky’s operating system, Sky OS, enhance user control capabilities for Sky Glass and Stream customers.

Owners of Sky Glass TV, Sky Glass Air device, or Sky Stream box can expect these features to be automatically delivered to their devices without the need for manual intervention. The update process occurs seamlessly in the background.

Notable additions include the ability to set reminders for favorite shows on all Sky Glass and Stream devices. Users can easily schedule reminders for TV guide listings, enabling timely notifications for upcoming programs. Additionally, a new digital Sky remote app is now available for iOS and Android devices, allowing users to control their TVs conveniently and access built-in accessibility features.

Sky has streamlined its settings for easier access, simplifying the process for users to adjust various options conveniently. The company has also relocated the quick access menu for quicker navigation to settings like picture and sound adjustments, parental controls, and accessibility settings.

Furthermore, the update introduces a range of new accessibility features, including an upgraded voice guidance experience that allows users to customize voice guidance speed, especially in popular apps like Sky Sports, Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, and RTE. Users can also benefit from high contrast options in Sky apps and magnification mode, enabling up to 400% zoom with remote control navigation.

Another notable addition is the availability of Audio Description on demand for Sky on-demand shows, bringing a more inclusive viewing experience similar to the one offered on Sky broadcast channels.
