“Sky Q Introduces U App for On-Demand Viewing”

Sky has announced a major update for Sky Q users, introducing the U app to the platform. Initially available on Sky Glass and Stream, the U app grants free access to various on-demand services like U&Dave, U&DRAMA, U&W, U&YESTERDAY, and U&Eden.

Now, after an extended wait, Sky Q customers can enjoy full on-demand access to popular shows such as The Marlow Murder Club, Outrageous, Bergerac, Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake, Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over, The Chelsea Detective, Ladies in Black, and The Count of Monte Cristo through the U app.

With features like show search functionality and curated categories for personalized content discovery, the app aims to enhance the viewing experience. Additionally, users can create Watchlists to save content for later viewing.

Formerly known as UKTV, the revamped U service integrates channels like Dave, Yesterday, and Drama. Sky Q users can access the U app without the need for any device updates or restarts.

Sam Tewungwa, Managing Director of UKTV, expressed excitement about the app’s expansion on the popular Sky Q platform, citing growth in views, reach, and content quality. Jon Simkin, Managing Director of Content Partnerships at Sky, highlighted the increased choice and flexibility for customers with the addition of the U app to the Sky Q platform.

The U app is now available on Sky Q, enriching the viewing experience for users on the platform.
