Six individuals have been apprehended by law enforcement in connection with a homicide investigation following a fatal stabbing at a residence in Leicester.
Police were summoned to the location by the East Midlands Ambulance Service at 1:37 am on Sunday after discovering a man in his thirties with a stab wound who succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Leicestershire Police revealed that after thorough inquiries, six men were taken into custody. Among them, a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder, while the other five, ranging from 24 to 53 years old, were arrested on suspicion of aiding an offender.
The detained individuals are currently being held by the police as investigations continue. The road where the incident occurred was closed for the day but has since reopened.
In a statement, law enforcement stated, “A murder inquiry has been launched following the death of a man at a residence on Sawley Street, Leicester, in the early hours of Sunday. The team of detectives has worked diligently, resulting in the arrest of six individuals. One individual, aged 44, is being held for murder, while the other five, aged between 24 and 53, are being held for assisting an offender. They are presently in custody.”
