“Samsung TV Owners in UK to Get Free Access to UKTV Channels”

Published:

Samsung TV owners in the UK are set to receive a significant upgrade with access to free bonus content. UKTV has announced that its popular linear channels will soon be available on Samsung screens without the need for additional devices. Viewers can enjoy these channels over the internet without requiring a traditional aerial connection.

To enhance the viewing experience, Samsung will introduce a dedicated section on its home screen showcasing content from the U streaming service. This feature will enable users to easily access classic comedies, dramas, and factual shows without navigating through menus.

In the upcoming months, Samsung TV users can expect channels like U&DRAMA, U&Dave, U&Yesterday, U&W, and U&Eden to be accessible through a direct link from Samsung’s Universal Guide to the U app. This expansion is estimated to reach millions of Samsung TVs and will be integrated into the platform’s ‘Live’ tab and Universal Guide, ensuring prominent visibility for UKTV’s live and on-demand content.

Jonathan Newman, General Manager of Commercial at UKTV and BBC Studios UK and Ireland, emphasized the strengthened partnership with Samsung, stating that the deal will enhance accessibility to the U app and promote UKTV’s diverse content range across video-on-demand and live channels.

Dan Harvie, Vice President of Home Entertainment and Appliances at Samsung UK and Ireland, highlighted the importance of UKTV in enriching the entertainment offerings on Samsung TVs. He emphasized Samsung’s commitment to providing an exceptional entertainment experience by offering a wide array of broadcast content through collaborations like this one.

Although an official launch date has not been disclosed, these new features are expected to roll out on Samsung TVs soon, enhancing the entertainment ecosystem for viewers.
