“Samsung Ends Updates for Galaxy S21 Series”

Published:

Samsung has officially stopped providing software updates for three older models of its Galaxy smartphones. The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra will no longer receive important software updates from the technology giant. Samsung’s security update page no longer includes these models, indicating that they will not receive any new system updates. This change means that users of these phones, released in 2021, may want to consider upgrading for security reasons.

When the Galaxy S21 series was launched, Samsung had promised four years of Android updates and five years of security updates. However, as of 2026, these commitments have ended. Newer models like the Galaxy S25 now come with seven years of Android and security updates, offering extended device longevity.

On the other hand, the Galaxy S21 FE continues to receive quarterly security updates and is expected to do so for at least another year. Those considering an upgrade may want to wait a bit longer, as Samsung is anticipated to unveil the Galaxy S26 series later this month. Speculations suggest that the new series, possibly arriving on February 25, will feature enhancements such as a faster processor, improved camera, sleeker design, and enhanced battery life.
