“Ryan Garcia Doubts Jake Paul-Anthony Joshua Bout”

Published:

Jake Paul’s upcoming heavyweight bout with Anthony Joshua is facing skepticism from boxer Ryan Garcia. The anticipated fight is scheduled for December 19 in Miami, featuring eight rounds of three minutes each with both fighters wearing 10oz gloves. Paul, who last fought in June against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, had a bout with Gervonta Davis canceled due to legal issues. On the other hand, Joshua has been inactive since a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in 2024. Despite their upcoming clash, Garcia voiced doubts about the fight happening after observing the size difference between the two fighters at a recent press conference.

Paul retaliated against Garcia’s skepticism, highlighting Garcia’s own recent fights and questioning his credibility. Following the cancellation of his fight with Davis, Paul called out various boxing stars, including Garcia. However, DAZN, the streaming service, prevented Garcia from switching platforms to fight Paul, citing their contract with Matchroom and their belief that Paul could defeat Garcia but not Joshua.

The clash between Joshua and Paul is set to occur on December 19 in Miami, a week before Christmas. The fight is expected to be streamed live on Netflix. Scheduled to potentially start at 11 pm local time, the event’s timing may cater more to the American audience. Viewers can access the fight through a specific Sky TV bundle offer from Netflix.
