Ukrainian officials reported that Russian forces targeted Ukrainian ports, industrial facilities, and retailers’ distribution centers using missiles and drones in a prolonged assault on Kyiv and other cities. The attack, which included ballistic missiles and 258 drones, was partially repelled, with commuters in Kyiv witnessing air defenses engaging incoming drones after an intense overnight bombardment.
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Russia carried out a significant strike against Ukraine, hitting various critical infrastructure such as ports, grain storage, energy facilities, and industries with ballistic missiles and combat drones. The Ukrainian military successfully intercepted seven ballistic missiles, showcasing an improved strike rate following the recent acquisition of U.S.-made Patriot interceptors.
Despite the interception capabilities of the Patriot interceptors, Ukraine remains vulnerable due to their limited supply, heightening the threat from Russia’s aerial attacks. The conflict escalated as Russia faced retaliatory actions, including a drone strike on an online retailer’s logistics complex in Ufa.

Amid the ongoing conflict, Ukraine received additional support from allies like Britain, which pledged to provide classified technology for the production of Storm Shadow cruise missiles. Responding to this, Moscow issued a warning, threatening to target British military assets in and outside Ukraine.
Air-raid sirens sounding
In Kyiv, air-raid sirens sounded throughout the day as attack drones traversed various neighborhoods, resulting in debris injuring several individuals. Tragic incidents occurred in Kharkiv, where a shopping center attack claimed one life and left two injured.

Furthermore, Ukrainian retailers endured significant losses, with distribution centers of major companies like COMFY and a leading toy manufacturer destroyed in the attacks. Roshen, a prominent chocolate company founded by former President Petro Poroshenko, also reported the destruction of one of its warehouses near Kyiv.
