Vladimir Putin proudly revealed that he allowed a NATO spy ship to observe Russia’s recent nuclear missile test to showcase the country’s possession of the most lethal long-range weapon globally. The Russian leader also issued warnings of a potential World War III by announcing the development of more powerful nuclear missiles, such as the Burevestnik, known as the ‘Flying Chernobyl’, which he claims surpasses all other missile systems in the world.
During a ceremony honoring the scientists behind the Burevestnik and Poseidon missile systems, Putin emphasized the exceptional capabilities of the Burevestnik, highlighting its superior range and accuracy. He mentioned that foreign experts, including those on the NATO reconnaissance ship present during the Burevestnik test, could witness its performance without interference.
Putin praised the collaborative efforts of Russian scientists and workers in designing the Burevestnik missile, intended to fly for extended periods before striking enemy targets. He also commended the Poseidon underwater drone, powered by its atomic reactor, capable of causing radioactive tidal waves in Western regions.
Despite showcasing these formidable weapons, Putin announced the development of a new generation of weapons, including nuclear-powered cruise missiles with speeds exceeding three times the speed of sound, potentially reaching hypersonic speeds in the future.
The Russian leader highlighted the broader technological advancements stemming from these weapons, pointing to potential applications in space and Arctic exploration, as well as civilian benefits like energy provision in remote areas. He mentioned plans to utilize components from the Burevestnik and Poseidon systems in developing advanced computing systems and digital infrastructure.
However, amidst Putin’s declarations on nuclear capabilities, Ukraine launched a strike on the headquarters of Russia’s elite Rubicon drone unit in the Donetsk region, targeting officers and operators affiliated with combat UAVs. The strike was attributed to the GUR military intelligence agency, which described the Rubicon center as a significant contributor to Russia’s military actions against Ukraine.
Additionally, Ukraine reportedly carried out explosions at multiple Russian power plants in the Oryol and Vladimir regions, escalating tensions between the two countries.
