A mother has shared her strategy to reduce Christmas stress by instituting a fee for family members, including children, to partake in the festivities.
Carla Bellucci, aged 44, is presenting a lavish four-course meal priced at an astonishing £250 per person for Christmas Day dining at her residence.
Despite causing discontent among family members, the former model, hailing from Hertfordshire, has stated that children can “find another option if they disagree.”
This is not the first time Carla has imposed charges for her Christmas dinner; last year, she requested £200 per individual, and this year the cost has risen by £50, with children, including her own, also required to contribute.
Tanisha, aged 20, and Jayden, aged 19, are feeling “deeply disappointed” by the decision. Carla mentioned to reporters, “They are not pleased with me at the moment.”
“Nevertheless, they have no alternative. If they wish to partake in a family Christmas, they must pay me,” she added.
“I am not allowing them, or anyone else, to take advantage of me. I no longer want to deal with freeloaders, especially during the costly holiday season.”
Carla is expecting ten guests for the festive meal, comprising both family and friends. The menu includes a starter of prawn cocktail with pickled cucumber.
The main course features short ribs, wild mushroom Yorkshire puddings, sizzled sprouts, and rosemary scalloped potatoes. Dessert will be a traditional Christmas pudding.
Upon arrival, guests will be served canapés and unlimited champagne. However, by 8 pm, everyone, including Tanisha and Jayden, must depart.
Carla clarified, “Since they no longer reside here, they are considered guests this year. I can see they are displeased, but it is what it is.”
“I am not operating as a charity; I also need to save money. Considering the preparation, cooking, and presentation of the meal, it is actually a bargain for them.”
If Tanisha and Jayden opt to stay overnight, they will be charged an additional £80 each. Carla remarked, “If I could charge more, like a thousand, I would.”
“When I proposed this to my family, they were quite incensed with me. They need to appreciate my efforts in alleviating their stress.”
