A man who was involved in an accident with a forklift that resulted in him being severed in half has expressed gratitude towards his wife for her remarkable support.
Loren Schauers was just 18 years old when he experienced a harrowing accident that caused severe lower body injuries. Since then, Loren has been on a challenging journey of recovery as he adjusts to his altered lifestyle.
The former laborer recently took to his Instagram followers to express his deep admiration for his wife, acknowledging her significant contributions in his life. He publicly thanked her for her unwavering support throughout his challenges.
In a post on Instagram on Thursday (November 13), he revealed how she assisted him during a computer troubleshooting session.
Sharing a picture of Sabia working on the cables of his custom-built PC, he expressed his gratitude, stating: “Witnessing my wife successfully fixing my computer! I am incredibly thankful, my love, thank you so much,” followed by a series of affectionate emojis.
His appreciation for his partner extended beyond the image, as he wrote in the caption: “Here, conducting final stress tests on my computer that my wife impressively repaired herself!” Additionally, he shared photos of their two pet cats, jokingly mentioning: “While observing, I caught these two hallway observers staring creepily.”
Loren endured a life-altering incident in September 2019 when he was only 18 years old. While working on a construction site, a forklift malfunctioned, causing a catastrophic accident that resulted in him losing the lower part of his body.
The heavy machinery, weighing four tons, collapsed on the young Loren, trapping him until emergency services arrived to rescue him. Despite the traumatic amputation, Loren managed to survive the ordeal bravely.
In a candid revelation, Loren mentioned being conscious throughout the entire accident, which left him without sensation below the waist due to severe pelvic injuries.
Since then, Loren has strived to make the best of his situation and continue his life to the fullest. At 24 years old, he is now married to his devoted wife Sabia Reiche, who stood by him during the traumatic incident and the challenging recovery process.
Initially, doctors had informed Sabia that Loren might not survive and had to bid farewell to him six times before his gradual recovery began.
