“Man Sentenced to 92 Years for Brutal Murder of Infant Son”

Published:

A man, Eliasard Moneus, aged 29, has been sentenced to 92 years in an Indiana state prison for a heinous crime. He callously left his three-month-old son, Jacob, to die in a container of laundry detergent as a twisted way to punish his wife. Moneus drowned the infant in the detergent, sealed the lid, and left the baby to perish.

Following the murder of his son, Moneus attacked his wife with a tire iron, leading to further charges. He received a 62-year sentence for Jacob’s murder and an additional 30 years for attempting to kill his wife, Edlie. These sentences are to be served consecutively.

An affidavit described the tragic discovery of Jacob’s body submerged in detergent, leading to his death by asphyxia. The Deputy Prosecutor, Elyse Madigan, expressed the extreme nature of the crime, stating that it was a horrific act beyond comprehension.

Moneus’s motive was reportedly to teach his wife a lesson about disrespect toward men. Despite remorse expressed through an interpreter, the judge condemned Moneus for his unforgivable actions. The judge emphasized the severity of the crime, calling it one of the most grotesque murders witnessed.

The incident unfolded when police responded to a domestic violence incident involving Moneus and his wife, who suffered serious injuries. Although evidence of an attack was found at the home, the baby was missing initially. Moneus was later apprehended, and the infant, Jacob, was tragically discovered in a sealed container at their residence.

In a disturbing twist, Moneus admitted to assaulting his wife but claimed ignorance about his son’s whereabouts initially. Subsequent investigations led to the heartbreaking discovery of Jacob’s body in a sealed bucket in the kitchen.

The court proceedings revealed the shocking and brutal nature of the crimes committed by Moneus, leading to a lengthy prison sentence for his despicable actions.
