A man who used to work in a factory and won £15 million in a lottery has disclosed that he has not informed his own son about his substantial prize. Alain, now enjoying a lavish retirement lifestyle, has bought a villa and five luxury cars after his win but has chosen to keep his 30-year-old son unaware of his newfound wealth.
Alain, a Frenchman who utilized his family’s birthdates as his lucky numbers, stumbled upon his jackpot while in the process of moving homes after over ten years of playing the Loto. Despite seeing the staggering sum on the screen, Alain remained composed, prioritizing his relocation and deciding to assess the situation the following day.
Upon confirming his win, Alain swiftly left his job in the automotive industry and acquired his dream residence – a renovated villa with a swimming pool. He indulged in five vehicles, including a Porsche and an Aston Martin, along with a couple of watches. Reports from the Manchester Evening News indicate that he has also invested parts of his fortune, now earning ten times more than his previous factory income.
While he shared the news with his sister, Alain deliberately chose not to disclose the windfall to his son. He explained to FDJ that he wants his son to continue working and appreciating the value of money without interruption. Nevertheless, he has treated his son to luxurious vacations post his lottery win.
Another individual who claimed to have won £7.6 million in the United States opted to keep his windfall a secret from his family out of concern that they would recklessly spend it. Speaking on the Bobby Bones Show, he expressed his intention to secure his family’s future by setting up accounts for his children and grandchildren discreetly.
In a similar vein, a lottery winner in Jamaica concealed his identity with a mask from the horror movie Scream while claiming a prize of nearly £1 million back in 2019. He mentioned to local media his plan to utilize the money for purchasing a house.
