Joseph Parker set to face Fabio Wardley in heavyweight clash

Published:

Joseph Parker has dismissed any discussions about facing Oleksandr Usyk at the moment and is determined to defeat Fabio Wardley in their upcoming heavyweight clash.

The 33-year-old New Zealand star is gearing up for his comeback fight against the formidable Wardley this Saturday. Parker has faced challenges this year, notably missing out on a bout with Daniel Dubois due to Dubois withdrawing just before the fight.

After an impressive knockout victory over Martin Bakole on short notice, Parker was poised to fight Usyk, who chose to face Dubois instead. Usyk’s win over Dubois led to a situation where he was required to defend his titles against Parker, but he requested a delay citing injury despite being seen dancing at a concert. Following an investigation, Usyk was granted an extension but must face the winner of Parker vs. Wardley.

In anticipation of the showdown at the O2 in London, Parker emphasized his determination, stating it’s “all or nothing” for him. Wardley, on the other hand, expressed confidence in facing Parker, emphasizing his readiness for the challenge.

The fight between Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley is scheduled to take place at London’s O2 Arena in October. Fans can watch the full fight card on DAZN PPV for £24.99, with the winner likely to secure a future match against Usyk for the WBO belt along with the other titles.

Both fighters are prepared for an intense battle, with Parker focusing solely on his current opponent and Wardley looking forward to proving himself against the experienced Parker. The event will be live-streamed on DAZN, offering viewers a chance to witness the thrilling match between the two contenders.
