Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors alleging fraud for not fulfilling obligations to develop and promote her mental health startup. The investors put in close to $1.2 million in Wondermind Global, a venture launched in 2021 with the aim of enhancing users’ “mental fitness,” as per a lawsuit filed in federal court in Delaware.
Investors claim they were promised Gomez, a prominent figure on social media with over 500 million followers, would actively participate in the company’s growth as the head of marketing. However, they argue that Gomez and other company executives failed to deliver on commitments, such as the creation of a mobile application.
The lawsuit asserts that Gomez allegedly agreed to contractual obligations but did not follow through. The investors criticize the company for not meeting even basic responsibilities like paying employees and vendors on time, stating that there was no substantial business progress.
A spokesperson for Gomez has not yet responded to requests for comment. The lawsuit reveals that the investors were unaware of the company’s issues until they were disclosed in an online news report in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking restitution of their investments along with legal costs.
