Emergency services responded to a residence in Eston, North Yorkshire, on October 5, where the baby was found in critical condition. Despite efforts at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary, the baby could not be saved, as confirmed by Cleveland Police.
Bradley Thomas, 22, appeared in court on October 7, facing charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Thomas, residing on Grasmere Road, Redcar, did not plead guilty during the preliminary hearing at Teesside Magistrates’ Court. He has been detained in custody and is scheduled to appear at Teesside Crown Court on November 5.
A spokesperson from the police department expressed condolences, stating, “Our thoughts are with the baby’s family during this challenging period.” Cleveland Police released a statement reporting the baby’s death and the ongoing legal proceedings involving the 22-year-old suspect.
