An individual known as the “human Barbie” influencer was discovered deceased and partially unclothed at the residence of a public official. Barbara Jankavski Marquez, aged 31, was tragically found dead following an incident where a 51-year-old public defender revealed that he had engaged her for “sexual services” the prior evening. The public defender, who resided at the location where the deceased influencer was located on Sunday, alleged that both individuals had consumed drugs and that the influencer had coughed continuously before appearing to fall asleep while watching television in Sao Paulo’s Lapa district, Brazil.
The official mentioned that he attempted resuscitation efforts for approximately nine minutes upon realizing that she had ceased moving, prior to contacting emergency services. Medical responders pronounced the influencer deceased around 9 pm, after discovering her lying on her back clad only in underwear, with an injury to her left eye and marks on her back.
A female acquaintance of the public defender, aged 43, informed investigators that she had been at the premises earlier that day but was not present at the time of the influencer’s death. She stated witnessing the influencer slip and fall around 4 am, resulting in an injury to her eye.
Law enforcement disclosed that the incident was classified as a suspicious death, with forensic and toxicology reports awaited to establish the cause of death. Both witnesses are expected to be summoned for further interrogation, and the influencer’s relatives are slated to be interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
Barbara, recognized online as “Boneca Desumana” (‘Inhuman Doll’), boasted a substantial following of over 344,000 on TikTok and 55,000 on Instagram. Her social media presence primarily focused on documenting her extensive cosmetic surgery journey, which encompassed at least 27 procedures amounting to over £43,000 (BRL 300,000). These surgeries included various radical enhancements such as liposuction on multiple body areas, breast and buttock augmentations, eyebrow lifts, and five rhinoplasties to achieve a doll-like appearance.
This incident follows the tragic death of an actress and influencer, Yoon Ji-ah, who is believed to have been brutally murdered within 30 minutes of a live broadcast by a prominent fan. Yoon was assaulted and strangled to death before her body was abandoned in a suitcase in mountainous terrain on 11 September. The influencer had been filming on Yeongjong Island, Incheon, South Korea, which is approximately a three-hour drive from the location where her body was ultimately discovered. An autopsy report confirmed that her cause of death was asphyxiation due to neck compression.
