“Geoff Ogilvy and Brandt Snedeker Announce Presidents Cup Teams”

Published:

International captain Geoff Ogilvy has selected Corey Conners from Listowel, Ontario, and Nick Taylor from Abbotsford, British Columbia, to join the team. This year’s International team will feature two Japanese players, including Ryo Hisatsune, marking the first time since 1998 that the team has had two Japanese representatives, with Hideki Matsuyama securing one of the six automatic spots.

Meanwhile, Jackson Koivun has been added to the U.S. team for the upcoming Presidents Cup. Koivun, who recently left Auburn, is one of the two newcomers in a dominant American team that has not been defeated in 28 years. His remarkable achievements, including winning the 3M Open in his early professional career and qualifying for the PGA Tour postseason within just five tournaments, have earned him a spot in the prestigious event. Notably, Koivun is the first player since Jordan Spieth in 2013 to begin a year without a tour card and participate in the Presidents Cup.

U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker has also chosen Jacob Bridgeman, a winner at Riviera this year, for the team. Despite passing over Ryan Gerard, ranked 22nd globally, who performed well at the Tour Championship and finished third, Snedeker is confident in his selection.

The Presidents Cup is scheduled to take place from September 24 to 27 at Medinah, a course that has undergone a complete renovation by Ogilvy’s golf course design company based in Australia.
