A father from Scotland is cautioning residents in Edinburgh following an incident where his partner was threatened both physically and verbally by a man riding an e-bike while she was walking with their baby in a stroller.
The partner of Kai Liam was on Wardieburn Place West at approximately 5:15 pm on Friday, October 10, when an unidentified man approached her.
Video footage captured the man riding slowly on the road, fixated on a mother pushing a stroller along the sidewalk. The woman quickly maneuvered the stroller to a nearby area by a shop or residence out of sight from CCTV, while the man advanced towards her, gesturing and seemingly speaking in a threatening manner.
Authorities in Scotland confirmed receiving reports of threatening behavior and stated that investigations are currently ongoing.
Expressing his concern, Kai emphasized the need to alert others about his partner’s encounter to prevent the man from targeting additional women. In an interview with Edinburgh Live, he recounted the incident: “My partner was returning from the stores when a man on an e-bike started following her, threatening to harm her and our child in the stroller.
“He pursued her down the street, issuing threats and circling around her in a menacing manner. This all took place while our five-month-old baby was in the stroller, distressed and crying.”
“I aim to raise awareness in case he targets another woman. Initially, he approached another woman with a stroller, but she managed to walk away.”
A spokesperson from Police Scotland stated: “On Friday, October 10, 2025, at around 5:15 pm, police were informed of an incident involving threatening behavior in the Wardieburn Place West vicinity of Edinburgh.”
