“Dog Walker Finds Abandoned Python on Welsh Mountain”

Published:

A massive snake, believed to be a python, startled a dog walker at a popular beauty spot. Charlotte Smith, 31, was with her dog Ella at Bargoed Common in Wales when Ella discovered the snake and attempted to interact with it. Charlotte, though not afraid of snakes, reacted quickly to protect her dog. She estimated the snake to be approximately 1.5 meters long.

The origin of the snake on the common remains unclear, but Charlotte suspects it was abandoned. Despite initially considering the snake might have gone into hibernation, further examination confirmed it was deceased. The snake was found quite a distance from any residential area, leading Charlotte to believe it was not a natural occurrence, especially given the prevailing weather conditions.

Charlotte took photos of the snake and shared them online in hopes of reuniting it with its rightful owner. She expressed concerns that the snake may have been intentionally placed on the mountain to cause fear. Authorities were informed of the discovery, although no action could be taken to save the snake. Charlotte emphasized the importance of respecting all animals, including reptiles, and raising awareness about their well-being.

Her efforts to highlight the incident aimed to shed light on the need for compassion towards all creatures, noting that snakes often receive less empathy compared to other animals.
