Three tourists have tragically lost their lives, and two individuals are currently unaccounted for following an avalanche that struck the Alps mountain range. The avalanche occurred on Cima Vertana in the Ortles Mountain range of Italy, claiming the lives of a woman and two men. The incident, which took place around 4pm in the South Tyrol region, prompted a search operation for the missing members of the five-person ski mountaineering team. A rescue effort involving helicopter services and firefighters is underway to locate the two individuals. Rescuers recovered the bodies of the 30-year-old man and woman, as well as a 50-year-old man, who were swept away while climbing. Reports suggest that the avalanche was unexpected, with two climbers sustaining minor injuries from debris.
