UK-based coffee chain Black Sheep has unveiled its festive Christmas menu, offering a range of bold flavors and indulgent winter treats. I had the opportunity to preview the menu at a wreath-making event, getting a taste of the new offerings firsthand.
One standout item on the menu is the Mint White Chocolate Chip Matcha, particularly the iced version. This unique drink combines fresh mint with creamy white chocolate, creating a smooth and sweet flavor profile with a hint of cheekiness. Despite not being a huge matcha enthusiast, I found this version to be a delightful departure from the usual bitterness associated with matcha drinks.
Another highlight is the Gingerbread Latte, a quintessential Christmas drink that exudes warmth and nostalgia. Infused with warming spices and sweet gingerbread syrup, this velvety espresso concoction topped with whipped cream is a true winter delight, perfect for getting into the holiday spirit.
Surprisingly, Black Sheep also introduced the Fuji Apple, Ginger & Caramel Red Bull Infusion, a drinkable twist on the classic toffee apple. Featuring juicy Fuji apple, fiery ginger, sweet caramel, and Red Bull, this energizing beverage is a festive companion for the bustling holiday season.
In addition to the beverages, the menu includes savory options like the Pigs in Blanket Ciabatta and Brie & Cranberry Toastie. While these sandwiches were tasty, they were deemed fairly standard for a coffee chain’s food offerings. However, the standout items were undoubtedly the unique and flavorful drinks that stole the show.
