“Beaulieu Park Station: New £175M Essex Stop Opens Early”

Published:

A brand-new train station is set to open on the Eastern main line, marking the first station debut in a century ahead of schedule. Valued at £175 million, the Beaulieu Park station in Essex will commence operations next week, offering commuters improved rail access.

This station, the first on this part of the UK rail network since the 1920s, will be accessible to passengers starting October 26th. Greater Anglia’s Managing Director, Martin Beable, expressed excitement over the station’s opening, emphasizing its significance as the first new station on the Great Eastern Main Line in over 100 years.

With a focus on sustainability, the Beaulieu Park station will feature a robust service offering up to four trains per hour during peak times and two trains per hour during off-peak hours, ensuring convenient travel for passengers.

Councillor Louise McKinlay of Essex County Council praised the station’s role in enhancing transportation in Chelmsford and surrounding areas, underscoring the county’s commitment to infrastructure-driven growth.

The new station is expected to alleviate congestion at the existing Chelmsford train station and reduce car traffic into the city center, benefiting the Beaulieu and Channels neighborhoods. It is a pivotal addition to the Chelmsford Garden Community, where thousands of homes are planned for development alongside essential amenities like schools, shops, and healthcare services.

The Beaulieu Park Station is anticipated to boost job accessibility, foster economic growth, and attract further investments to the area. With enhanced connectivity and service offerings, the station aims to become a preferred travel option for residents in Essex.
