“Arrest Made in UK Hospital Assault Incident”

Published:

Police apprehended a suspect following an assault on two individuals at a prominent hospital in the UK. The altercation occurred at 5:30 pm on Friday, prompting the temporary evacuation of the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary’s emergency department, which later resumed operations that evening. Authorities confirmed the arrest of a 37-year-old man in connection with the incident the following day.

According to Police Scotland, emergency services responded to the call at 5:30 pm on Friday, October 10, with two individuals receiving initial treatment at the scene. Investigations are ongoing to determine the complete details surrounding the incident.

NHS Grampian stated that the emergency department reopened later on Friday evening but was facing a patient backlog due to the earlier closure. CEO Laura Skaife-Knight advised patients to only visit the department in emergencies and emphasized the importance of contacting NHS 24 at 111 before arriving at the ED, unless facing life-threatening situations like suspected strokes or heart attacks, where calling 999 is necessary.

The hospital administration refrained from providing further comments due to the sensitivity of the situation.
