Apple has unveiled a new software update designed to enhance creativity for a wider audience. The tech giant from the US is introducing Creative Studio, a platform that grants MacBook and iPad users access to premium software at a more affordable monthly rate.
This service provides complete access to professional applications like Final Cut Pro for video editing, Logic Pro for music creation, and Pixelmator Pro as an alternative to Adobe’s Photoshop.
Upon its release later this month, Apple users can subscribe for £12.99 monthly or £129 yearly, a great value considering the inclusive offerings. For instance, Final Cut Pro alone costs £300 on the App Store, while Logic Pro is priced at £200.
By offering these software tools through a subscription model, Apple aims to make them more accessible to a broader user base.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, stated, “Apple Creator Studio is a valuable resource that enables creators of all kinds to pursue their craft with powerful and intuitive tools for video editing, music production, creative imaging, and visual productivity, enhanced with advanced intelligent features to streamline workflows.”
Additionally, Creative Studio includes extras such as MainStage, which transforms the Mac into a versatile musical instrument, voice processor, or guitar rig. There is also Motion, a robust graphics tool for creating cinematic 2D and 3D effects with intelligent features like Magnetic Mask for easy isolation and tracking without a green screen.
Subscribers will also receive intelligent features and premium content for Keynote, Pages, Numbers apps, and Freeform for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with further enhancements planned for later in the year.
While Keynote, Pages, and Numbers will remain free, they will be enhanced for Creative Studio subscribers.
Cue added, “There has never been a more flexible and accessible way to access a powerful suite of creative apps for professionals, emerging artists, entrepreneurs, students, and educators to unleash their creativity and explore their interests from start to finish.”
Apple Creator Studio will be accessible on the App Store starting January 28th, with a one-month free trial for all users. Additionally, purchasers of a MacBook or iPad will receive a three-month trial period.
Apple has also announced special pricing for university students, offering the software bundle at just £2.99 monthly or £29.99 annually.
