Alleged Assault at Schumacher’s Home Sparks Trial

Published:

A person in their thirties, affiliated with motorsport, is facing allegations of sexually assaulting one of the nurses who previously cared for Michael Schumacher. The incident reportedly took place at Schumacher’s residence in Gland, Switzerland, according to a report by Swiss newspaper 24heures.

The accusations stem from an incident in 2019 but have recently surfaced, with the victim filing a criminal complaint over two years after the alleged assault. A trial is expected to commence this week.

According to the rape charges, the individual assaulted the nurse in an upstairs bedroom at Schumacher’s home in Gland, where she was attending to him following his skiing accident in December 2013, after an intoxicated evening.

The defendant claims to have shared a previous kiss with the nurse at a club in Geneva, although the nurse denies any significant relationship between them.

None of the Schumacher family members are implicated in the allegations, as per the indictment, stating their absence during the events.

Over a decade ago, the seven-time world champion suffered severe head trauma in a skiing accident, leading to his current need for full-time medical care provided by a team at his residence. Schumacher spent 250 days in a medically induced coma before being transferred home for ongoing treatment.

While details of Schumacher’s care remain private, his wife, Corinna, offered insights in a Netflix documentary released in 2021, expressing the family’s ongoing support and dedication to his recovery.

Schumacher’s illustrious racing career includes winning his first world championship titles with Benetton in 1994 and 1995. He later achieved further success with Ferrari, securing five consecutive titles from 2000 to 2004.
