British professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known as Pac in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), has passed away at the age of 40. AEW confirmed Satterley’s death on Sunday without disclosing the cause. Just the night before, he had a televised match against Andrade el Idolo in Chicago.
Satterley, originally from Newcastle, England, kickstarted his wrestling journey in 2004 in the United Kingdom. He gained recognition globally for his unique blend of acrobatic moves and muscular physique, competing in various independent wrestling leagues worldwide, including Japan and Mexico.
Previously known as Adrian Neville, he was part of World Wrestling Entertainment from 2012 to 2018, prominently featuring in NXT and the cruiserweight division. Upon joining AEW in 2019, Satterley engaged in matches with top talents, winning multiple championships, including the inaugural international title.
His trademark finishing move, the black arrow, showcased his aerial prowess and earned him the moniker “The man that gravity forgot.” Throughout his wrestling career, Satterley alternated between portraying a menacing villain, dubbed “The Bastard,” and injecting humor into his performances.
Following his passing, tributes poured in from fellow wrestlers and associates, highlighting his exceptional talent, humility, and dedication to the sport. AEW CEO Tony Khan and Toronto wrestler Josh Alexander were among those who expressed their condolences and admiration for Satterley’s contributions.
Satterley’s death marks another loss for AEW, coming shortly after the passing of Andy Williams, also known as The Butcher, in September. The Butcher, a guitarist for Every Time I Die, collapsed during an independent wrestling event in Pittsburgh at the age of 48.
Despite his limited social media presence, Satterley shared a photo with The Butcher just days before his untimely demise, showcasing a bond that spanned over two decades.
