Freeview has announced significant changes to its channel lineup and TV guide. The latest update includes the closure of the Talk channel (Ch 280), forcing viewers to access the service through the official Talk app or other compatible platforms like Samsung TVs, Roku devices, and LG screens.
In addition to the channel closure, Freeview is reorganizing its offerings, with Wedotv Big Stories on channel 275 being rebranded as Wedotv. Furthermore, Ketchup TV, Ketchup Too, and Cartoon Classics will be shifting to new channel positions, including Ketchup TV moving from Ch 209 to Ch 208, Ketchup Too from Ch 210 to Ch 209, and Cartoon Classics relocating from Ch 214 to Ch 210.
Freeview confirmed that these changes will take effect on June 25, 2026, emphasizing that channels frequently evolve on the platform due to individual decisions by broadcasters. To ensure access to the updated channels, viewers are advised to retune their TVs by accessing the settings menu and following the on-screen instructions.
For a smooth retuning process, users should select options such as ‘set-up,’ ‘installation,’ or ‘update’ on their TV remote control, choose ‘first-time installation,’ and confirm the deletion of existing channels. Saving the newly found channels will complete the retuning process, keeping the TV guide up to date.
