The mother of a teenage girl from Florida who was tragically killed recently has come forward after the arrest of two teenage suspects. Danika Troy, 14, was found deceased in a wooded area near Pace, Florida. Her mother, Ashley Troy, reported her missing, and her body was discovered by a passerby showing signs of burning and gunshot wounds. Gabriel Williams, 16, and Kimahri Blevins, 14, were apprehended and charged with first-degree premeditated murder in connection with her death.
Authorities are investigating the case, indicating that the two teenagers allegedly planned the killing after a dispute following Thanksgiving break. It is believed that the incident stemmed from derogatory remarks made towards Williams and online actions against Blevins by the victim.
Despite the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, Troy’s mother, a devoted Baptist, expressed compassion towards the boys, referring to them as her daughter’s acquaintances. She emphasized the influence of evil rather than solely blaming the boys for the tragedy. However, she insisted on seeing them prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
A candlelight vigil is scheduled to be held in memory of Danika Troy at her family’s church, Avalon Baptist Church in Milton. Ashley remembers her daughter as a beautiful soul who cherished her faith in Jesus. The community at Avalon Baptist Church has extended support to the grieving family during this difficult time.
Following the discovery of the body, law enforcement conducted interviews with witnesses connected to the crime. Blevins reportedly confessed to planning the murder, and Williams admitted to his involvement in the tragic event. Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson mentioned that investigations are ongoing as some details do not align. He revealed that Williams used his mother’s handgun to shoot Danika Troy.
Both teenagers are currently detained at the Santa Rosa Juvenile Detention Center without bail. The authorities are continuing their inquiries to unravel the full scope of the case.
