“Sky Mobile Announces £1.50 Monthly Bill Increase”

Published:

Millions of Sky Mobile subscribers are set to experience an increase in their monthly bills starting next month following a recent announcement. The majority of customers will witness a £1.50 per month hike, translating to an annual increment of £18, although some may face different adjustments.

The revised charges will be reflected in customers’ bills from February 14, 2026, marking the first time Sky Mobile has altered prices for in-contract subscribers in over seven years. Customers dissatisfied with the price rise and within the minimum term of their contract have the option to cancel without incurring an early termination fee.

Notably, the price of the Sky Mobile social tariff, catering to individuals with lower incomes, will remain unchanged. Sky attributed the price adjustment to increased wholesale network expenses and assured customers that they will be notified promptly if their bills are affected.

A spokesperson from Sky Mobile emphasized the necessity of the £1.50 monthly increase to sustain the quality, service, and value expected by customers. The decision, made after a lengthy period without mid-contract mobile price hikes, is a response to industry-wide cost pressures while enabling continued investment in network infrastructure and customer service.

In a similar move, O2 disclosed that nearly all mobile and SIM-only contract customers will face a £2.50 monthly increment from April 2026, up from the originally planned £1.80 rise. Three mobile customers opting for data plans of 4GB or less will see a £1.80 per month increase from April 2026, representing an 80p uptick from the current £1 raise.

Customers with data plans ranging from 4GB to 100GB will experience a £1.90 monthly rise, while those with over 100GB will encounter a £2.30 hike from April 2026. Additionally, Three broadband consumers can anticipate a £3.50 monthly increase from the same period.

Vodafone mobile customers signing up from November 12 will witness a £2.50 monthly bill upsurge, with Basics SIM plan users facing a £1.50 rise. Vodafone broadband clients, on the other hand, will confront a £3.50 monthly price adjustment. Existing Vodafone or Three contract holders will see their prices elevated as per their agreed terms.
