A husband, Hakan Aysal, is currently incarcerated for pushing his pregnant wife, Semra Aysal, off a 1,000-foot cliff at Butterfly Valley in Mugla, Turkey, right after taking photos with her. The court revealed that the victim, who was seven months pregnant, met a tragic end as her husband sought to profit from a life insurance policy. Aysal deceitfully led his wife, who had a fear of heights, to the edge under the pretense of taking a selfie before callously pushing her off.
The couple spent several hours on the slope before the fatal push, which occurred when no one else was present. Suspicions arose when images of the couple circulated, prompting a witness to recall seeing them near the cliff. Video footage captured the pair navigating the rocky terrain before the heinous act.
After the incident, Aysal attempted to claim a £40,000 insurance payout shortly after Semra’s death. However, his actions raised red flags, leading to police intervention. It was discovered that he had taken out loans in his wife’s name and embarked on a lavish lifestyle post her demise.
Aysal faces charges of premeditated murder, with prosecutors alleging that he orchestrated the crime to benefit financially. He has been sentenced to a minimum of 30 years in prison before being eligible for parole. Witnesses described him as unnervingly composed during the trial, with one passerby recounting his nonchalant demeanor when seeking help after the incident.
Despite his incarceration, Aysal has attempted to sue individuals who allegedly defamed him online, aiming to profit from legal actions against his detractors.
