Andy Murray, with a golf handicap of two, showcased his skills at the recent Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Pro-Am, proving his versatility in sports after retiring from tennis. Despite his impressive performance, he still trails behind Gareth Bale.
The two-time Wimbledon champion has been actively participating in Pro-Am tournaments, including the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth. Murray, eyeing a potential future appearance at The Open, recently played at various renowned courses in his home country of Scotland.
During the team championship, Murray competed at Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, and St Andrews, where he impressed with his performance. Notably, he was paired with professional golfer Eddie Pepperell and even outdrove Ryder Cup hero Tyrrell on some fairways.
Recalling his memorable moments on the golf course, Murray fondly mentioned his eagle at the St Andrews’ Old Course earlier this year. His ambition to participate in The Open was emphasized during his time at the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am.
Sharing a post-event picture with Pepperell at St Andrews’, Murray expressed gratitude for the support and humorously acknowledged his golfing mishaps. He also discussed his golfing aspirations, aiming to compete in the regional qualifying rounds for The Open in the near future.
