“Blackpool Council Offers £300 Winter Energy Assistance”

Published:

Thousands of households may qualify for £300 in winter energy assistance. Blackpool Council is providing this support through its Household Support Fund, tailored to each local authority. Eligible households with one or two members, including children, can receive £200, while those with three or more members, including children, may get £300.

To access the aid, households must demonstrate financial hardship and difficulties in bill payments, submitting recent bank statements for all household members. No specific benefits are required to apply, but only one award can be claimed per year.

The payment is directly credited to the energy provider, appearing on bills or pre-payment meters. Residents can apply through the Blackpool Council website, while others should explore support options from their local councils under the Household Support Fund.

Various councils, like Stockton-on-Tees Borough and City of York, are also offering assistance in the form of vouchers and one-off payments to eligible residents. Portsmouth City Council, for instance, is granting £150 to single-person households and £200 to couples or families meeting specific income thresholds.

Individuals receiving council tax support in York may qualify for a one-off £100 payment, with applications processed online using a unique reference number. Each council has its criteria and application process, ensuring targeted aid reaches those in need.
